Catch You Riding Dirty, er, Clean and Green + Meet the Adventure Kid

Let's pause for a moment and channel your inner Chamillionaire with "Ridin Dirty" for a while. If you're not familiar with the Ridin Dirty Song, you can find it here: (Warning Explicit) Ridin' Dirty

They see me rollin

They lovin

Patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin sunny

Tryin to catch me ridin sunny

Tryin to catch me ridin sunny

Tryin to catch me ridin sunny

Tryin to catch me ridin sunny

My music so loud I'm swangin

They hopin that they gon catch me ridin sunny!

This is what a group students from the University of Viginia are probably singing right now after winning first prize in the Change My Life in One Minute contest for the World Cerebral Palsy day. You can find a youtube video of the entry on this link.

This innovation, though perhaps long overdue, adds another contribution by technology for the improvement of the lives of people on wheelchairs. Not only that, you can also factor in the energy savings that definitely translate into financial extras. The group won $20,000 and any remaining amount would be given back to United Cerebral Palsy day.

In the future, as the prices of solar panels go down, we just might see this particular piece of equipment rolling without limits all over the nation and even the world.

Meet Kellisa Kain The Adventure Kid

According to doctors, when Kellisa was born, she had no chance of living. But as fate would see her through, she not only lived, she also became a young adventurer of sorts despite being wheelchair bound at a very young age. Through the unwavering love of her father, she began hiking trails, visiting the woods and experiencing nature and life at its best. She's also into rafting as you can see in the picture - all thanks to her parents' strong desire for her to live life at its best.

They dream of hiking in parks around all the 50 states of the United States and her father is exerting all his best to achieve this dream.

Their story is one worthy of emulation, and you can find their blog over at: http://www.kellisas-path.blogspot.com

Their latest adventure was in Congaree National Park in South Carolina.

My Thoughts

Now this story of love and adventure, got me thinking about my own life and my family. As you, my friend, already know, I'm not wheelchair bound and am fully able. I work as a farmer and a freelance writer. But though I've seen life from the lives of many others, I have yet to embark on my own adventure.

My situation keeps me rooted here on the ground and as much as I love what we have, I still have that yearning desire to go on an adventure myself with my family.

I have that deep yearning to go the marvelous wonders of the Banaue Rice Terraces, Sagada in the Northern part of the Philippines, Boracay in the South and many, many, many others. For me, the main challenge is financial in nature and I'm finding it very difficult to surmount that challenge.

But I remain hopeful, that someday, things would all work together to make these dreams possible.

I'm also hoping that whatever your dreams may be - would also come true.

We have Kellisa as our inspiration.
