I recently lost my deposit for an accessible bathroom when the company that were meant to do the bathroom went into liquidation. I contacted my local newspaper and a reporter did a story to raise awareness about what had happened. A few weeks ago now I setup a Givealittle page here in New Zealand. It's the type of page where people can donate to a cause.
I wanted to post in Rolling Without Limits and share my post, as in the last few weeks I have been totally overwhelmed by the support we have received it is truly great to see there are some really caring people. I hope you are able to read the newspaper articles about my story.
I can keep you all updated with the progress as the funds are raised and a bathroom (hopefully!) becomes reality. This is my first post to Rolling Without Limits and in the future I would like to post more on: Employment, Education, Access-ability, Relationships, Parenting with a disability, Sports, Boccia, Disability Products, Disability Awareness.
I hope you enjoy reading my post and I hope to keep you updated with posts from New Zealand and New Zealand disability issues which I'm sure are similar to disability issues worldwide. It is always interesting to read posts of what type of disability support is available in other countries. My passion is in education and I trained as a kindergarten teacher. Look forward to a post about working in the education dystem and employment.
