I’d like to share some news that I recently discovered. It is the best news, because it deals with children, who will be the future of our tomorrows. It is also a major break in news, due to the fact that it is unique information which hopefully will one day spread throughout communities worldwide. After all, children deserve to be treated fairly. We are in a new age, where things should be handicap and disability friendly, everywhere. For children to grow as individuals in a world where they sometimes feel unwanted and/or unaccepted, is unacceptable. We have to take the steps to show these kids love, hope, and ultimately, fairness.
Most playgrounds today do not consider kids with wheelchairs or mobility issues. This utterly leaves some children out of the wonderful and informative playground experiences most of us have had, that in fact helped to groom and shape us as adults. These defining experiences also helped us all to enjoy playing, have fun, and feel carefree. But Hamden playground rises to save the day for the neighborhood! This playground is a 7,000 square foot area made completely of eco-friendly recycled features, a ramped entrance, and equipment that allows paraplegics, as well as other children to play.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Hamden Playground!
