I admit it, I sometimes feel sorry for myself because of my slight mobility issues. I know I am more fortunate than many, but that does not always stop me from wishing I was perfectly mobile and healthy. I can still walk, I am not in constant pain and I am reasonably healthy. However, once in a while a person comes along who shows me just how lucky I am and that I should be grateful for what I have.
Nick Vujicic was born with no arms and no legs. When he was first bornm his parents worried he would not be able to function in society. However, he has proven them (and everyone else) wrong. He was bullied in school and even considered suicide at one point, but thankfully he changed his mind when he thought of how his family would react.
Nick Vujicic is now a motivational speaker who inspires people throughout the world. CBC Sunday Morning recently did a profile of him which I would recommend you watching if you can. The best part of the video is when he meets a girl with Cerebral Palsy hugs her. She said meeting him was better than meeting Justin Bieber.
Here is another video that illustrates his motivational speaking.
He really does make the best of what he was given and even those who are full-bodied rarely inspire such large numbers of people. He really is an American hero.
