Inspired by The Movie 'Cars' Two Oklahoma-based Dads Creates Halloween Wheelchair Costumes For Their Sons

The Halloween season can be a tough time for the children with disabilities, but in MCALESTER, Okla the story is different, there is a father named Brian Kihlstrom who has decided to make Halloween special for his 4-years-old son named Reid.

On Halloween day, when Kihlstrom was getting Reid to dress up for Halloween, he came to know that more visible thing is the wheelchair, his son's costume was not that visible.

According to Kihlstrom, the first thing someone would notice in his kid was his wheelchair straps as the costumes were fully covered with them.

Since that day Kihlistorm got an idea of making costumes for Reid. The first costume his father made for Reid was two years ago which was the Batmobile costume, and the second one was a stealth fighter jet costume that was made last year for Reid.

The costumes are made according to the fitting of Reid's wheelchair. According to Kihlstrom, there are many events where children with disabilities cannot get involved, and he wants his son to be involved in every function.

When Reid was 18 months old, he came across diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but he never felt left out because of his father who was always there for him.

The Okla dad said, That he couldn't ask for a better son than Reid because they are both like best friends. Inspired by the movie Cars, Reid gets a Lightning McQueen costume this year.

Cars are Reid's favorite movie and he is very excited this year because he has a costume of his character Lightning McQueen. In so many years, this is the first time Reid got a partner named Harlin Johnson who is 6-year-old and also his father Frankie Johnson.

Frankie Johnson son's, Harlin Johnson is suffering from FITM2, which is a rare genetic condition diagnosed, this thing has made a big effect on Harlin's muscles and now he not able to retain any kind of fat in his body.

Despite he is on a wheelchair, this doesn't stop the twosome to take part in every function together. According to Johnson, the time with his son Harlin is fun and his smile is the apple of his eye, but he thinks that this year the smile is a bit bigger. Harlin's wheelchair is dressed-up as Mater the 'Cars' series
