Kendrick Lamar Surprises Quadriplegic Fan with Wheelchair-Accessible Van

Kendrick Lamar recently went above and beyond for long-time fan Jennifer Phillips, showing once again that he never fails when it comes to giving back to his fans and community.

Not too long ago, the popular American rapper received a Generational Icon award and the key to the city of Compton from the California State Senate. During a concert stop in Dallas this past weekend, the open-handed rapper showed his big heart once again.

Besides spending time with Jennifer Phillips, one of his longtime admirers, he surprised her with a personalized Top Dawg hat and his custom Dallas Mavericks jersey – but that's not all. Kung Fu Kenny even promised that he'd buy her a new wheelchair-accessible van to help her get around.

Phillips was in an accident about a decade ago and she has been raising money via a GoFundMe campaign since April, managing to raise over $4,000, but much to her delight, the 'DAMN.' rapper said he’d pay for the van and gave her a jacket with a personal note to thank her for always supporting him.

"Your a inspiration for me. You are strong and positive. Your kind and beautiful. For all the years of inspiring me, the least I can do is make sure your comfortable driving the city. A gift from me to you. Your always appreciated! — K. Lamar,” the note read.

No prizes for guessing, this knocked Phillips over with a feather.

You do not necessarily need to know her in person to realize Phillips has been a huge Kendrick Lamar and TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) supporter for a long time. Just taking a gander at her Instagram profile is enough to uphold her fervor for K-Dot.

Not only do they have great music, but they are also great human beings, she said. Moreover, they never treated her like a "charity case" or a stranger.

Phillips added that she didn't meet face to face with them because she's in a wheelchair, but their music and shows were sufficient for her. Aside from singing their praises, Phillips said she will always love them and continue to pray for Kendrick. Finally, thanking the whole team, she said next time she will be driving herself to his show.
