Samsung Gets More Serious About Paralympic Movement

As part of its strong commitment to the Paralympic Movement, Samsung had a series of big announcements for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games. Their goal is to help spread the #DoWhatYouCant spirit and get more people involved in the Paralympic Movement.

The Korean tech giant is a worldwide partner of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in the Wireless Communications and Computing Equipment category. The company wants to introduce athletes and fans to its cutting-edge technology, providing them the opportunity to capture and share unique contents of their Paralympic experiences.

Samsung and the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games

Samsung has provided mobile devices to all Paralympians: The company has provided Samsung Galaxy Note 8s to all Paralympians as well as the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic staff. In addition to receiving a smartphone, athletes and staff were provided with a fast-charging battery pack and a special case that features the Paralympic Winter Games interface. Samsung’s mobile technology is expected to enhance mobile experience and make the digital world more accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Samsung introduced an all-one app: The Korean tech giant also introduced an all-in-one app to further enhance the PyeongChang 2018 experience for all Paralympians and to ensure smarter communications and smoother wireless operations. The new app has been designed to provide real-time updates about the PyeongChang 2018 games. The app is currently available in Samsung Galaxy Apps, iOS App Store, and Google Play Store.

Samsung announced 4D VR experience: Aside from their new mobile app, Samsung also announced plans to provide 4D VR experiences, allowing the chance to experience Samsung’s VR technology.

Samsung announced Paralympic Blogger program: In addition to VR and improved mobile experience, Samsung also announced the Samsung Paralympic Blogger Program. As part of the Samsung Paralympic Bloggers project, the company has selected 25 video bloggers from 14 countries to use their creativity to record and share their own #DoWhatYouCant stories.
