Showing off your creativity in the form of a Halloween costume can be quite challenging for a kid who uses a wheelchair.
With Halloween just a season away, many of us are already thinking about the hair-raising costumes we would wear, but this excitement doesn't often come without a lot of anxiety for kids using wheelchairs. This is due to the lack of wheelchair-adaptive Halloween costumes.
In an effort to give children with a disability more options, Target has come up with wheelchair-adaptive costumes. The American superstore, which is touted as the eighth-largest retailer in the country, has unveiled a couple of wheelchair-inclusive Halloween costumes and they are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
According to the New York Post reports, the aforesaid costumes were made available in Target's Hyde and Eek! Boutique earlier this week. Target continues to earn praises on various social media platforms for their wheelchair-adaptive Halloween costumes, which are designed for kids.
This Halloween, you can choose between two classic ensemble outfits including a swashbuckling pirate and fancy princess. Keeping comfortability of the wearer in mind, both costumes come with a back opening.
As if that weren't enough, you can even coordinate covers of your wheelchair, transforming it either in a pirate ship or a royal carriage. According to the product page, the Halloween wheelchair cover can be cut to fit different wheelchair sizes, while the hook-and-loop closures ensure a secure fit.
The pirate costume comprises a swashbuckler’s outfit, striped trousers, a vest, tricorn, and an eye patch. The trouser features an opening to facilitate the dressing process. The other adaptive feature includes widened trouser legs so that shoes do not come out.
The princess costume, on the other hand, includes a fuschia frock, coupled with gold adornments, and a crown. This is accompanied by a purple and silver-tinted royal carriage, which can effortlessly be fitted to the wheelchair.
Sold separately, the festive items have already gone up for pre-order. It is worth mentioning here that the shipping date is August 22nd.
