Since the nation lockdown has been declared on 24th March, it has been a tough time for the people. Many people are tired of this lockdown and want to go out of their homes, but there are also cases where people are finding new ways to keep entertaining themselves. The most common is that people make dance and singing videos and post it on various social media platforms.
Among them are the six people with disabilities who have made a video where they are dancing to the song "Gallan Goodiyan" from the film Dil Dhadakne Do. They have captioned the video as 'When India’s differently-abled achievers decided to have some fun'.
The founder of the accessibility campaign Ramp My City and a Bengaluru-based entrepreneur, Prateek Khandelwal was the man behind this idea.
"I saw a #DontRushChallenge trending on social media where many popular personalities were taking part using a prop and grooving to the music. I thought it would be a great idea to PwD achievers, who have won laurels for India or are heading organizations that are changing lives of people facing physical challenges, on one platform to make a fun dance video. It would send out a message to people that despite whatever challenges they are facing, the free-spirited side of ours, which knows how to enjoy life and live in every moment", says Prateek.
Apart from the entrepreneur Prateek, the video also featured Swarga Foundation Co-founder, Swarnalatha J, disability rights activist Virali Modi, disability rights advocate Nipun Malhotra, para-badminton champ Manasi Joshi, and Miss Deaf Asia 2018 Nishtha Dudeja. All of the participants had shot their videos at their homes which were later send to Prateek for editing.
The work of editing and producing was managed by Prateek and the team of RampMyCity and later the final video was posted by them.
The dance video has got a lot of good response and numerous people have liked and shared the video, among them, there are a few famous personalities also.
