Wheelchair Accessible Parks in Iowa: Duck Creek

Located in Iowa's Scott County, Duck Creek Recreational Trail is an all asphalt trail stretching 13.5 miles. The trail begins at Emeis Park in Davenport and reaches to US 67 in Riverside. The trail offers walking and biking, and it's wheelchair accessible.

Duck Creek gives anyone who visits the opportunity for a peaceful walk, run, ride, or stress-free commute and the mighty Mississippi River is just south of the trail. The trail takes you through a number of city parks as you travel down it. Junge Park and Garfield Park are two of the largest parks the trail takes you to with ball-fields, picnic tables, and playgrounds. Several bridges along the trail provide opportunities for gazing at wildlife. The trail offers scenic and serene views as you travel.

Duck Creek Trail passes safely under I-74 but has occasional road crossings with quick-to-respond trail signals and law-abiding traffic.

Many people have given the trail 4-5 stars, stating that the trail is fun and is surrounded by parks and trees. Many say the trail is a well-paved surface and has very few hills. One person said it does get buggy in the summer, so don't forget the Repel!

Dorelle said, "I biked this trail west... It was about 7 miles, very pretty with numerous benches strategically placed under shade trees. The creek was crossed numerous times and most roads had underpasses. There were 3 road crossings and I loved the fact that when you pressed the crossing button cars were immediately stopped... ...this trail extends an equal distance East and hope to explore that section as well since most trails along the Mississippi are underwater this week."

Duck Creek Park also offers a beautiful gazebo surrounded by a gorgeous garden that is perfect for weddings!

It sounds so beautiful—like the perfect place to relax and read. I can't wait to see you there!
