Wheelchair World

I have MS and I am a full-time wheelchair user.  I absolutely love travelling and so I have set up a website database of thousands of wheelchair traveller reviews, resources and service providers for countries all around the world.  The aim of this database is to help wheelchair using travellers find the superb information resources that can really help them be informed about any destination to which they wish to travel or visit, whether it is in the UK or abroad.

The website is:

The website has just been moved to a new, much-improved platform, which has a place to share information not just about countries, but also other aspects of travelling such as useful equipment, tips & advice and traveling within countries or to and from countries, including things such as cruises or air travel. The list is constantly growing so please feel free to use the contact us form on the website to suggest anything that you would like to see included!

Wheelchair using travellers or even those who are not in a wheelchair but have accessibility requirements are welcome to use this resource and add their experiences, whether travelling to a specific country or in the comments sections of the "Other Travel Info" pages.

There is also a monthly newsletter which rounds up all of the great content that I have added to Wheelchair World in the previous month.  It looks great and I’m really proud of it. I would love you for you subscribe to the email, which you can easily do by visiting the website and either selecting "Sign Up" to add information to Wheelchair World in general or just subscribe to the newsletter by using the "SUBSCRIBE" link on the Wheelchair World homepage.

In 2017, Wheelchair World achieved registered charity status. This year, I will be working with Microsoft to develop an app that will make Wheelchair World accessible in a very user-friendly format and also translatable so it can be viewed in any language, providing an opportunity for us to plug-in with reviewers who review in other languages and engaged with wheelchair users around the world!

Would you like to be involved in this exciting adventure?  There is so much to be done for Wheelchair World, and who knows what the future holds?  I have already been offered two free holidays!  It is also a fantastically flexible thing to do, fitting it around my appointments, physiotherapy sessions, counselling and of course, good days and bad days and whenever I need to take a rest, which is usually most afternoons!  It allows me to keep my mind occupied and have something to do whenever I want to feel engaged.  Also, I find it massively inspiring to read other wheelchair using travellers adventures and learn about accessible places both in the UK and in other places across the world!

Psychologically, it is really great to dive into the world of the wheelchair user and feel that there are a lot of other people out there who use wheelchairs :-) if you would like to get involved, please contact and we can discuss it further!
